The Northwest Vietnam Motorbike Tour – 12 Days journeys deep into Vietnam’s most atmospheric mountain regions, where cloud-covered passes, endless rice terraces, frontier valleys, and remote ethnic communities create a riding experience unlike anywhere else in Southeast Asia. Designed for riders seeking authentic mountain adventure, this route explores the raw beauty of Northwest Vietnam far beyond the usual tourist paths.
The ride begins in the limestone landscapes of Ninh Binh and the peaceful valleys of Pu Luong before climbing toward the misty ridges of Ta Xua. Here, mountain roads weave above the clouds near the famous Ta Xua Dinosaur Spine while isolated Hmong villages overlook dramatic valleys below. Further north, the legendary Mu Cang Chai Rice Terraces and Khau Pha Pass deliver some of the most iconic riding scenery in Vietnam.
As the route continues west through Son La, Dien Bien, and Lai Chau, the atmosphere becomes increasingly remote. Riders experience rugged mountain terrain, quiet frontier roads, jungle valleys, and authentic highland life shaped by generations of ethnic communities living across the northern mountains.
The journey reaches another highlight beneath the Hoang Lien mountain range near Sapa, home to Fansipan Mountain and the spectacular O Quy Ho Pass. From there, the route flows east toward the colorful hill tribe region of Bac Ha and the peaceful gemstone valleys of Luc Yen before returning to Hanoi.

The ride escapes the busy streets of Hanoi and heads south into the peaceful countryside of the Red River Delta. Narrow backroads wind through rice paddies, riverside villages, and dramatic limestone formations surrounding the Trang An Landscape Complex near Ninh Binh.
As the route climbs toward Pu Luong Nature Reserve, the atmosphere changes completely. Jungle-covered hills replace the delta plains while traditional Thai stilt-house villages appear between terraced valleys. Day 3: Phu Yen – Ta Xua

Day 8: Lai Chau – Sapa
