The IA's Tour Guide will meet you at your hotel around 9am. The bus will bring us to Sapa at 10am. the bus will arrive around 3pm, then we check in.

December, 4th 2025: Sapa - Lai Chau Motorbike Tour

Kick off our journey to the west with a day of hardcore off-road trails. We head northeast of Sapa, down to Lao Cai, and stop quickly to visit the largest Chinese border gate. Then, following the Chinese border for much of the way, it heads northwest toward Y Ty, a snowfall village in winter, further up North, which stays on the border between Vietnam and China.
Roads climb up and down several mountains, connecting dozens of small minority villages and remote army outposts before heading towards "Heaven's Gate" and conquering the Craziest Pass in Vietnam - O Quy Ho Pass. With a length of up to 50 kilometers at over 2000 meters above sea level, we are riding to the place of intersection between Earth and Heaven. Afterward, we will descend into Lai Chau Province. A big supper is waiting for us to savor.

December, 5th 2025: Lai Chau - Dien Bien Phu

We’ll keep riding our The Best Sapa Motorbike Tour 5 Dayss on the zigzag roads to the village of Sin Ho. Today's road weaves through the picturesque Da River valley, past many small villages of Red and White Hmong, Kho Mu, and White Thai ethnic minorities, until you reach Muong Lay in the early afternoon.
After lunch, we head toward Dien Bien Phu - the heroic echoes of history town. The globe-shaking victory of the Battle of Dien Bien Phu was a glorious milestone for the entire Vietnamese Party, army, and people in the resistance war against the French colonialists. Here you spend the night in a hotel.

December, 6th 2025: Dien Bien Phu - Son La Motorbike Tour

Leave Dien Bien Phu after breakfast. We will take the most complex but most challenging ride to Son La today. The French built this place to house captured revolutionaries, and it remains one of the country's most interesting and best-maintained historical sites.
Firstly, our route takes us to the base of the lengthy and steep Pha Din Pass. The Pha Din Pass was how the Vietnamese revolutionaries brought all their guns and artillery to Dien Bien Phu, the site of the climactic confrontation of the First Indochina War. Its highest point is around 1,100 meters above sea level, and it offers an almost panoramic view of the surrounding countryside before descending on a steep, paved path.
Finally, we'll arrive in Son La, where you can unwind at the delightful hotel.

December, 7th 2025: Son La - Mu Cang Chai

On the third day of The Best Sapa Motorcycle Tour 5 Days, from Son La, we’ll backtrack a little, heading over to Muong La; from here, we roll on Road 109 to Mu Cang Chai, our destination today. Forget what you’ve seen in Sa Pa: it’s fantastic, but Mu Cang Chai (a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site) is home to the best rice terracing and single tracks worldwide.
The bike will take us through the most magnificent cultivated topography. Rice terraces coil in ribbons around the hills, creating a spectacular effect that lures photographers, hikers, and avid motorcyclists. There are plenty of challenging off-road trails today; we can do some in the morning, afternoon, or both, depending on the actual circumstances.

December, 8th 2025: Mu Cang Chai - Sapa Motorcycle Tour

This morning, we'll ride our The Best Sapa Motorbike Tour 5 Days straight toward the main Fansipan Mountain range via Than Uyen town in Lai Chau. For those seeking an extra thrill, there's a challenging back route that includes several river crossings. The impressive mountain range will be our backdrop as we tackle the thrilling ascent from Binh Lu to Vietnam's highest road pass, O Quy Ho Pass. At over 2,000m, the panoramic views from this pass stretch over the main range for miles. We'll then descend back to the foggy Sa Pa valley. The French considered Sapa to be the summer capital of northern Vietnam in the early 20th century.
Toasting the finish of a 5-day motorbike tour with cold beers and saying goodbye to the Indochina Adventure team. We hope to reunite further on the road in the upcoming trip.
