Day 1: Hanoi - Lang Son
After breakfast, we leave Hanoi and head east toward Lang Son, aiming to clear the city traffic by riding out after the morning rush hour. We follow quiet roads through the Red River Delta, passing rice paddies and village lanes that give you a glimpse of the northern countryside while keeping the ride relaxed and enjoyable.
As we continue, the flat landscapes gradually give way to limestone karst formations, signaling our approach to Lang Son. We stop for a coffee break upon arrival, giving you time to stretch and prepare for a short exploration ride around Lang Son City. Here, you can visit the local market, see historical sites, and stop by the Huu Nghi Border Gate with China for a quick look at this important trade point.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we gear up to ride up Mau Son Mountain. The road here is a sealed but winding climb, offering a fun ride with plenty of curves and panoramic views. As we gain elevation, the air cools, and the scenery opens to views of northern mountains, forests, and distant border villages, with Mau Son reaching an altitude of around 1,500 meters.
At the top, we take a break to enjoy the scenery and visit remnants of the old French colonial hill station. You will have time to walk around, capture photos, and, if the weather is clear, watch the sunset over the mountains.
We then descend carefully down the mountain roads back to Lang Son City for an overnight stay at a comfortable hotel, resting up for the next day’s ride.

After breakfast, we get back on our bikes and leave Lang Son, riding south on Highway 4B before connecting to Road 18, heading toward Ha Long City. The ride takes us through a mix of countryside and busy towns, with limestone mountains occasionally appearing along the way.
As we approach the coast, the landscape changes, offering scenic views of small fishing villages and coastal roads that lead us closer to Ha Long Bay. We take breaks along the way for coffee and photos, ensuring a comfortable pace before arriving at the Ha Long pier.
Upon arrival, we complete the registration and board a comfortable cruise boat to begin exploring Ha Long Bay, famous for its limestone karst formations rising from emerald waters. A fresh seafood lunch is served on board as we start the cruise.
The afternoon is spent sailing among the islands, with optional kayaking or cave visits depending on the weather and your energy levels. In the evening, you can relax on the sundeck, enjoy the quiet of the bay, and watch the sunset over the limestone peaks.
Dinner is served on board, followed by time to socialize with fellow travelers or simply enjoy the calm night on the bay. We spend the night in comfortable cabins on the boat, resting up for the next day of exploration.

For those who enjoy quiet mornings, waking up early to watch the sunrise over Ha Long Bay is well worth it, especially before a light breakfast is served on board. You will have some time to enjoy the final views of the limestone islands as the boat cruises back to the harbor by mid-morning.
Once back on land, you have two options for returning to Hanoi:
✅ Option 1: Ride Back to Hanoi
We get back on the bikes for the final leg of your motorbike tour, following Road 18 and taking quieter countryside roads when possible to avoid heavy traffic. This return ride offers a last chance to enjoy northern Vietnam’s landscapes, with occasional dirt sections or village roads for those who want to stretch the ride a bit longer. We aim to arrive in Hanoi before the evening rush hour, ensuring a safe and comfortable end to your motorbike adventure.
✅ Option 2: Limousine Transfer
If you prefer a more relaxed return, a comfortable limousine will be ready to take you back to Hanoi while your motorbike is transported by truck. This option allows you to rest, enjoy the scenery, and arrive in Hanoi without the hassle of riding through city traffic, providing a smooth end to your journey.
Either option ensures you return to Hanoi safely, wrapping up your northern Vietnam motorbike tour with memorable riding days and the natural beauty of Ha Long Bay.
