Day 1: Ha Noi - Ba Be National Park
We begin the day with an early departure from Hanoi at 9:30 am, aiming to clear the city before traffic builds up. Riding out on minor roads, we head toward Thai Nguyen Province, taking backroads and quiet countryside lanes where possible to avoid highways and give you a chance to warm up on your bike.
We stop for lunch in Cho Chu town, where you can enjoy local northern Vietnamese dishes. After lunch, the ride becomes more scenic, with less traffic and more opportunities to explore sections of dirt roads and village farm tracks. Along the way, you’ll see terraced rice fields, riverside bamboo waterwheels, and limestone mountains lining the horizon.
By late afternoon, we arrive at Ba Be Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake in Vietnam. Here, we board a private boat for a gentle cruise, offering a unique perspective of the limestone cliffs and the lush green waters. If you wish, you can take a swim before heading back to Pac Ngoi Village, where we spend the night in a traditional Tay ethnic minority stilt house.
Dinner is prepared by the host family, giving you a chance to experience local food and culture while resting up for the days of riding ahead.

Day 2: Ba Be - Vu Linh
After breakfast with our Tay host family, we pack up and leave Pac Ngoi village, riding through small riverside paths and rice fields as we bid farewell to Ba Be. This morning offers a mix of sealed roads and off-road trails, with dirt tracks winding through plantation hillsides and small ethnic villages.
We continue our ride on quiet backroads, enjoying the peaceful countryside and taking advantage of opportunities to explore easy off-road sections that pass through bamboo forests and streams. This terrain offers a fun and manageable riding experience, allowing you to take in the scenery of northern Vietnam.
Around midday, we stop for a local lunch along the way before heading toward Vu Linh village, home to the Dao ethnic community on the shores of Thac Ba Lake. The lake’s calm, clear water mirrors the surrounding green hills and forests, creating a peaceful atmosphere as we arrive. If time and weather permit, we can leave the bikes behind and take a short boat trip to explore Thac Ba Lake, with the opportunity to swim or simply relax on the water before returning to shore.
Tonight, we stay with a Dao family at their homestay, where you can enjoy a home-cooked dinner, join in traditional dance, and share a cup of local rice wine, ending the day with warm hospitality.

We start the morning by taking quiet village paths near Vu Linh, riding through tea hills and along the edge of Thac Ba Lake. The route includes light off-road sections, dirt roads, and small riverside trails, offering a last taste of northern Vietnam’s countryside without requiring heavy technical demands.
By midday, we arrive in Viet Tri for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we continue on Road 2B, a quieter route that lets us avoid the busy highways for as long as possible. As we approach the Red River Delta, we use a mix of countryside lanes and small dike roads, keeping the ride interesting while maintaining a comfortable pace.
We aim to arrive in Hanoi before rush hour, around 4:00 pm, to ensure a smooth return. Once in the city, we will drop your motorbike at our garage and transfer you to your hotel by car, wrapping up your northern Vietnam motorbike off-road adventure safely and comfortably.
